Marked Together by the Lamb’s Blood

Torah Portion: Bo (Exodus 10:1–13:16)

Introduction: Parashat Bo recounts the final plagues and the institution of Passover, where G-d marks Israel for redemption through the blood of the lamb. For Messianic Jewish couples, this portion reminds us that freedom, safety, and intimacy are grounded in covenant obedience and trust in G-d. Just as the Israelites acted together in faith, couples today are invited to walk together in remembrance and redemption through Yeshua, our Lamb of Pesach (Passover).

Core Theme for Couples: Marked by the Lamb’s Love, couples grow in freedom and unity when they trust G-d together rather than relying on control, fear, or self?protection.

Devotional Reflection: The blood on the doorposts was a sign of trust and obedience. It was not the strength of Israel that saved them, but their faith in G-d’s provision. In marriage, healing and closeness come when couples remember G-d’s faithfulness and extend grace to one another.

Counseling Insight: Healthy relationships are built on safety, remembrance, and shared meaning. G-d established safety first through the blood, then invited Israel to remember and proclaim. Couples are encouraged to prioritize emotional safety, shared spiritual practices, and open communication rooted in compassion.

Exercises for Couples:

1. Read Exodus 12:1–14 together and share one moment G-d has been faithful in your relationship.

2. Create a remembrance ritual (candle, cup, or prayer) to recall G-d’s redemptive work.

3. Pray together, asking G-d to mark your relationship with His Shalom (peace) and presence.

Closing Prayer:

Compassionate Redeemer, thank You for marking us with Your covenant love. Help us walk in unity, trust Your redemption, and extend grace to one another through Yeshua, our Lamb of Pesach (Passover). Amen.

Shabbat Shalom.
